Squaw picked up another 29 inches in the past 24 hours bringing the storm total to 39 inches and counting.  The season total is now over 200 inches already and we are at 45% of the annual average up top 2 days into Winter.

We have another strong storm pushing in today that could bring as much snow as yesterday's. The snow is already coming down a bit harder than expected this morning ahead of the front with the heaviest snow expected this afternoon. We should see another 1-2 feet at the base and 2-3 feet on the mountain by Monday morning. The snow should turn showery tonight and fade out Monday morning.

The speed of the next storm has picked up and we could see snow begin to fall as early as late afternoon on Christmas Day. The heaviest snow should be after midnight into Wednesday morning. We could see up to a foot at the base and up to 2 feet on the mountain by Wendesday night.

Starting Thursday the ridge of high pressure builds over the West putting the breaks on the next splitting system approaching the coast next weekend. We may begin a dry period of a week to 10 days as the ridge keeps the storm well to our North. Some forecast models have a flat ridge forming off the coast with strong storms flattening it enough to get us back in the storms by the 2nd or 3rd of Jan. Others keep a more amplified ridge off the coast and doesn't allow any storms in until possible retrogression of the ridge starting around the 7th.  BA
