Dust off your dancing shoes and head to Squaw Valley for another fun-filled summer! On the heels of the success of last year’s KT Concert Series and the wildly popular Bluesdays at Squaw, the folks here at Squaw Valley are pulling out all the stops again. Nearly every weekend following the opening of the Aerial Tram on June 15th, Squaw Valley is hosting a variety of festivals and events to ensure that a summer spent at Squaw is one rife with fun and entertainment for the whole family. Of course Wanderlust is a blast, it just keeps growing and getting better with each passing summer. With Beats Antique, Ziggy Marley, and Quixotic slated to perform under Tram Face, this four-day extravaganza is bound to be a huge success again. A stalwart of warm Squaw summer nights, Bluesdays at Squaw promises to deliver the vibrant Tuesday evening atmosphere that we’ve come to know and love. Lodging and restaurant specials abound while The Village Events Plaza morphs into a rockin’ dance floor and social scene. If you’ve never been, this is the year to check it out, as crowd-favorites Guitar Shorty and Coco Montoya are returning and newcomers like Ron Hacker and The Hacksaws are sure to make your Tuesdays at Squaw nights to remember.

If July wasn’t busy enough, August at Squaw follows with more of the same! Last year’s Brews, Jazz & Funk Fest was a resounding success, as the turnout was HUGE and the $5 entry fee proceeds helped save homeless pets in the area. A variety of renowned breweries from the western states offer $4 beers all day and night August 11th and 12th. The entire weekend revolves around beer, music and pets, so it’s no wonder Brews, Jazz & Funk Fest is one of the most popular events in the Tahoe region.

Returning again are Peaks & Paws and the 24th Annual Alpen Wine Fest. Shifting the focus from beer to wine, the Truckee-Tahoe Humane Society delivers Peaks & Paws; another fun exhibition in which dogs take center stage. Peaks & Paws offers guided hikes, doggy competitions, and even MORE live music! It’s boisterous fun for participants of all ages. The Alpen Wine Fest follows with a more refined atmosphere, albeit just as much entertainment and good will. Benefiting the Can Do Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, this event features a spectacular silent auction and raffle and, of course, more live music! Wine from over 40 wineries is yours for the tasting along with a souvenir Spiegelau glass.
