The biggest summer event at Squaw Valley is back for round 4. This year is packed with all of the essential ingredients: yoga, music, wellness, fresh eats and speakeasies. The mission of Wanderlust is simple- mindful living equals a healthy life. Wanderlust brings some of the fundamentals to easy, mindful living right here to our beautiful valley. Here, you’ll be occupied with practicing yoga, dancing into the wee hours of the night, meeting new faces and hanging with familiar ones. Best of all, you’re immersed in one of the most scenic places around. You have the freedom to do it all. The key is being open to all of these unique and “uncommon” experiences.

The question at hand is how are you going to utilize your Wanderlust experience to its fullest potential? Ultimately, it’s up to you, but here are some of my suggestions.
Grab your mat for an early morning yoga session. While waking up at 8am does not sound appealing, trust me, it’s totally worth it. On Friday, there are two classes (with openings!) that have the best views around. Imagine- breathing in the crisp morning mountain air and while you exhale you open your eyes to the awe-inspiring rock face. There is nothing else like it. Beyond the majestic scenery, we’re bringing in some major talent. Highly ranked in the yoga world, we’ll have the likes of Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Baron Baptise and many more teaching you with their own individual styles.

Once you’ve stretched, relaxed and have that positive energy coursing through your body- the only thing left to do is enjoy the live music every single night. Thursday night will feature Beats Antique, a bass heavy, electronic group that is sure to have you bust out your hula hoop and shake it. Friday literally has music all day, but something to catch this year would be the roller rink party at High Camp. Skate around to the beats of DJ Dragonfly, all while looking at Lake Tahoe and the peaks of Squaw Valley. The mainstage will feature Shpongle Presents the Masquerade starting at 10:30pm. The night isn’t over yet, because the party and music continue at Plaza Bar with Shaman’s Dream. Another jam packed day of music and yoga will ensue on Saturday, including pool parties at High Camp (another insanely beautiful venue) and headliner Ziggy Marley.

While you're skating around, don't forget to look out onto Lake Tahoe. Although, it is hard to miss!

I recommend checking out the tea house after hearing some music. Share what is ailing you and you’ll be handed kombucha or herbal tea to heal. While you sip on your delightful concoction, you can talk Confucianism or just watch the belly dancers move effortlessly.

This year will also feature a Farm to Table dinner that will be served at High Camp. Ride the scenic Aerial Tram as it rises 2,000 vertical feet passing over the massive granite rock features that are unique to Squaw Valley. The menu will feature a salad, vegetable, protein and dessert station- including menu items like the classic BLT with an heirloom caprese stack, farm pork belly and avocado aioli or maybe a stuffed portabella mushroom with herbed ricotta cheese and artichoke hearts tickle your fancy. The dinner will be hosted on Friday and Saturday and you can purchase your tickets here. View the entire delectable organic menu here.
Overall, the vibe at Wanderlust is indescribable. It’s mellow, spiritual, eccentric, rejuvenating and lively all at the same time. I realize that mellow and lively are quite the oxymoron, but the only way to understand what I am trying to articulate is to attend. See you there Wanderlusters!
