Galapagos Explored presented by the Squaw Valley Institute
September 17, 2009
Curtis Gray and Sarah Null discuss “Ecuador to the Galapagos” on September 17 at a Squaw Valley Institute presentation that takes place at Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley. Gray and Null spent one month climbing high elevation volcanoes, exploring the high páramo, visiting villages, the coast, the Islands of the Galapagos, and finally the jungles of the Amazon. The program begins at 7:00 PM, and a reception with no-host bar begins at 6:30 PM. Curtis Gray is a GIS Analyst/Ecologist for California State Parks based out of Tahoe City. He is an avid climber, skier, and kayaker who likes to expand his love for the outdoors in other countries and through the lens of other cultures. He has been a member on climbing teams in the Himalaya of Nepal, Aconcagua in Argentina, the Andes of Peru, Denali in Alaska, Orizaba and Popocatepetl in Mexico, the Canadian Rockies, Thailand, California and the Western United states. Null is a post-doctorate scholar at University of California, Davis, and a resident of Truckee. She is also an avid explorer, climber and skier. A $10 donation is requested. Children and students with ID are free. For tickets, visit www.squawvalleyinstitute.org, or call 530.581.4138. Memberships are also available.
