Enjoy uninterrupted views of Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra, ice skate at the Olympic Ice Pavilion, travel back in time and learn a little more about the 1960 Winter Olympic Games at the Olympic Museum, or relax at the Poolside Umbrella Bar and soak up the sierra sun in the Swimming Lagoon & Spa (opens in Spring).

Guests ride the 2,000 vertical feet to High Camp in Squaw Valley's aerial Cable Car (or the Pulse Lift) from Gold Coast Lodge where all of these activities plus numerous sundecks, and the Poolside Cafe and Terrace restaurant await.

High Camp is also the gateway to most of Squaw Valley's beginner terrain. Here skiers and snowboarders will find scenic views and plenty of wide open gentle slopes on which to hone their skills. From High Camp Squaw Valley's professional Ski & Snowboard school offers group lessons every hour, on the hour, through the innovative "Ski With a Pro" program.


High Camp Activities

Olympic Ice Pavilion - Ice Skating

The Olympic Ice Pavilion, accessed via Squaw Valley's aerial Cable Car, is a true wonder. Perched at the crest of Squaw Valley's upper mountain, the rink offers unmatched panoramic views of the Squaw Valley Meadow, beautiful Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada. 

Swimming Lagoon & Spa

Sunbathe, swim, relax and more at el 8200' while surrounded by wonderful views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. 

Olympic Museum

Learn about the 1960 Olympics that took place right here at Squaw Valley! Located at High Camp, admission is free with your Cable Car ride.

High Camp Restaurants

Alexander's Cafe & Bar

Floor to ceiling windows with magical views of Squaw Valley and Lake Tahoe make this a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Terrace Bar & Restaurant

Relax and be swept away by the views in the Terrace Room Rotunda and the circular Terrace Bar.

Poolside Cafe

Enjoy lunch and dinner (inside and outside on the sun deck), the Poolside Café offers an expansive soup and salad bar plus much more.

Bar North

High Camp's location for any private party, birthday party, or catered event.  Serving group lunch specials with breathtaking views, this full bar makes you feel right at home on top of Lake Tahoe. Bar North has a seating capacity of up to 110 people.

This is the coolest spot to turn up the heat on your apres ski lunch and dinner. Designed and built by National World Champion Ice Sculptors, FEAR NO ICE; the Ice Lounge is a comfy place to catch some rays and cap your day!
