*Please remember your child’s ski pass. If you have forgotten it you will need to take your child to the new Sales Center and get a day ticket. They will give you one for the season, free of charge. It is difficult for your child and their group when they go through the gates and there is a child without their pass and it holds everyone up.
*Slowly more skiing terrain is opening up. Conditions have been challenging with the freeze thaw cycles and safety is our first concern. All the kids (including my own) have not quite figured out yet that this season is nothing like last season. The coaches will be working more on the technical aspects of skiing more than ever before.
*Remember we do not meet on Sunday February 19, 2012 since it is a Holiday.
Please review with your child:
Alpine Meadows/Squaw Valley Children's Chairlift Code of Conduct 2011-12
We have developed a children's chairlift code of conduct to help all of us educate our young skiers and riders about the importance of following chairlift best practices. Please take an active role in educating your child on the following guidelines.
1. Behave and be respectful of your team mates and others when you are in line, loading the chair, riding the chair, and unloading the chair.
2. When you are loading the chair, move promptly from the WAIT HERE board to the LOAD HERE board.
3. At the LOAD HERE board,
a. hold your poles in your inside hand
b. look back and to the outside
c. grab outside of chair as it approaches
d. SIT BACK, HOLD ON, LOOK FORWARD, AND DON'T FOOL AROUND.
4. While you are riding the chair, DO NOT play with skis or boards and DO NOT play with the restraining bar.
5. If the lift stops, DO NOT turn around or play around on the chair.
6. After you unload the chair,
a. move away from the unloading ramp
b. stay out of the way of others
c. wait for your coach or instructor
7. Children that violate this Code of Conduct will be appropriately reprimanded up to and including termination from our program.
"Please be advised that your child may be riding lifts alone, with other children, or with adults while enrolled in group or private lessons or Teams. Please advise a Supervisor or Head Coach if you do not wish for your child to ride a chair lift alone."
New families please contact Karen Roske for registration information first. There is limited availability and participants must live full time within a 50 mile radius of Squaw Valley and attend their local school.

Notice of transportation between Squaw and Alpine:
With the joining of two great mountains we have a unique opportunity to experience a variety of training venues. As you are aware we will continue to transport Snowsports program members between Alpine and Squaw to provide the most suitable terrain for each athlete. Everyone seems to be enjoying the alternate training venues that Squaw and Alpine have to offer.
