PlumpJack Cafe Winemaker Dinner: LIOCO Winemaker Dinner with Matt Licklider

September 5, 2008

LIOCO was founded by Matt Licklider and Kevin O’Connor, based on the premise that California can achieve a wine of origin, provided certain protocols are adhered to--both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Inspired by traditional European winegrowing practices, Lioco seeks out vineyard sites with tougher soil, older vines, and some stress-producing aspect (altitude, extreme temperatures, poor soil, etc). The focus is on vineyard-designate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as an old-vine blend of “under-dog” California varietals (including Carignan and Petite Syrah).

Enjoy wines made in the old world style with an emphasis on new world terroir & fruit, while the PlumpJack Cafe takes your palette on a lovely journey through four expertly-paired courses. This winemaker experience is available to you at a fabulous value of only $125 per person, after tax and gratuity. Make your reservation for the dining room anytime between 6-9pm, Sept 5, by calling Liz at 530.583.1576, or visiting www.plumpjackcafe.com. Wine Event participants are offered a very special lodging rate at the PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn on the evening of the wine event.
