Snow Cubs - Ages 3 and young 4 year olds

Snow Cubs is a ski/snowplay program for our 3 and young 4 year old guests. Each day is filled with fun activities, a ski lesson and snow play. All children must be fully potty trained.

Snow Cubs is a "learn to ski program" specially set up for this age group (rental equipment is included with the Snow Cubs program). The learning objective for this age is to familiarize the child with the equipment, the snow environment and to have FUN! We have small teacher to student ratios, 3 to 1, to ensure a great experience. All skiing for this age group will take place on the flats, Magic Carpet and the Pony Tow, located just steps from the Squaw Kids building. Up to 2 hours of lesson time in the morning and in the afternoon.

A full day of skiing can be alot for this age group.  Please keep in mind that the Snow Cubs Program is a physically demanding program and your child must be willing to ski. Please note this is NOT DAY CARE!  It may be recommended for your child to start out with a half day. During the snowplay portion of the program your child may participate in a Funitel ride or a walk around the village.

We do recommend making reservations for Snow Cubs as space is available on a first come, first serve basis and the program is subject to frequent sellout.

A copy of a birth certificate is required as proof of age for all 3 year olds for on their first visit.

Snow Sliders ages 4 - 6

The Squaw Kids Instructors who work with this age group know how to keep these kids moving! The focus of this program is to enhance learning, skill development and keep the kids smiling. All skill levels are welcome, classes start at the Children's Center beginner area with a flat area, 2 Magic Carpets and a Pony Tow. Children who are ready will explore the mountain according to their skill level. The full day program includes several hours of on-snow instruction and a 1 hour lunch break. We have small teacher to student ratios, 5 to 1, to ensure a great experience. Please remember to pack a snack in your child's pocket.

A full day of skiing can be a lot for beginner 4 and 5 year olds. Please keep in mind that the Snow Slider Program is a physically demanding program and your child must be willing to ski. If your child needs an extra break in the afternoon, they may go on a Funitel ride or a walk around the village. 

Rental equipment is not included in the Snow Sliders program price.

Junior Mountain Program ages 7-12

Known for our fun and talented Squaw Kids Instructors for this age, groups will explore the mountain according to skill level. The focus is on skill development, skiing etiquette, safety, and keeping the kids smiling. The full day program includes several hours of on-snow instruction and a 1 hour lunch break. Please remember to pack a snack in your child's pocket.

Rental equipment is not included in the Junior Mountain program price.

Snowboarding Program ages 7-12

Squaw Kids offers first time through advanced snowboard lessons for the 7 years (2nd grade)through 12 year old age group. Instruction will focus on slope etiquette, equipment knowledge, safety, basic skills development, and of course FUN!

The full day program includes several hours of on-snow instruction and a 1 hour lunch break. Please remember to put a snack in your child's pocket.  

 Rental equipment is not included in the snowboard program price.

Private Lessons

Squaw Kids offers private lessons by reservation. Give your child all the one on one attention a Private Lesson has to offer.  We have two and three hour privates for morning or afternoon. One hour privates are offered on a walk-in basis if available. Please call 530-581-7166 for reservations and prices.

Squaw Sessions Teen Camp

For skiers and snowboarders age 13-17 of intermediate or higher ability will be offered through the Adult Snowsports School. Call 530-581-7263 for information and to make a reservation.  

Squaw Kids Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel your child’s reservation two days before there is no charge.
  • If you cancel your child’s reservation one day before there is a $15 fee.
  • If you cancel your child’s reservation the morning of or no show, you are subject to full charge.
  • There are no refunds or changing of dates on pre-sold tickets.
