Twilight Dinner Package: available December-March
Closed for the 2009-2010 winter season.
Lake Tahoe's only mountaintop dinner adventure begins with a scenic ride on our aerial Cable Car as it ascends 2,000 vertical feet to High Camp, el. 8200', Squaw Valley USA's mountaintop oasis with spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. High Camp is home to restaurants, bars, an Olympic sized ice skating pavilion, the Swimming Lagoon Spa and the Olympic Museum. Sunset Diners are in for a treat with our new menu, masterminded and prepared by Scott Rutter, Squaw Valley's new Executive Chef.
Sunset Dinner Package tickets may be purchased at the ticket portal at the base of the Cable Car. If guests prefer to arrive earlier in the day to enjoy High Camp, they may still take advantage of the dinner package by purchasing it before 5 pm. The Sunset Dinner cost is discounted at $49 per person after 5 pm and $59 if purchased before 5 pm (Cable Car ticket price is reduced after 5 pm). The Sunset Dinner package includes Cable Car rides and a three-course dinner with a variety of choices from a special menu.
Before or after dinner, guests can take a romantic spin on the ice at the Olympic Ice Pavilion or wander through the Olympic Museum and watch a short film about the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. Both are open nightly until 8:30 pm Friday & Saturday. Ice skating is $11 per person and hockey or figure skate rentals are included. There is no charge to access the museum.
The Cable Car uploads every 20 minutes, on the hour. The last Cable Car trip up leaves the base area at 8 pm and the last Cable Car down departs High Camp at 9 pm. Operations are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. The High Camp Sunset Dinner Package is available when night operations are in effect. Currently Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made by calling 530-452-7278.
