Lift Operators
The primary responsibility of this position is to safely and efficiently run Squaw Valley's large network of lifts.
- Ability to think quickly in an emergency
- Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions
- Must be 18 years old
Parking Attendants
Parking staff will welcome and direct vehicles, help to maintain the cleanliness of the parking lot and assist guests with directions to the base area!
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Ability to arrive at work as early as 5am
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (i.e. rain, mud, snow, sleet, sun, cold) with a smile!
Ticket Sellers
This primary responsibility of this fast paced job is to sell daily lift tickets and ski school packages.
- Cash handling experience or strong math skills a must
- Computer experience helpful
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must be at least 18 years old
Special Ticket Office Sales Staff
Special Ticket staff administers many of Squaw Valley's club and promotion programs and sells all of Squaw Valley's different ticket options such as season passes, discount tickets, complimentary tickets, frequent skier memberships, group tickets, and much more. This can be a stressful job as the ticket office is very busy.
- Must possess fast and accurate typing skills, MS Office and calculator by touch
- Previous customer service experience helpful
- Ability to adapt to unexpected situations
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must be able to remain friendly in stressful situations
- Must be at least 18 years old
Shuttle/Transportation Drivers
Operate Squaw Valley's daily shuttles from around Lake Tahoe.
- Must have a California Driver's license, Class B (with a clean driving record)
- Ability to handle driving in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to work early hours and be prompt
- Mandatory DOT physical exam & drug testing required of all qualified applicants
- Must be at least 18 years old
Cable Car Operators
Operators are responsible for driving the Cable Car, providing resort information to the guests, and aid in the upkeep of the facility. Some Cable Car maintenance required.
- Must be comfortable with high elevations
- Ability to work well under pressure and in routine situations
- Mandatory DOT physical exam & drug testing required of all qualified applicants
- Must be at least 18 years old
Central Reservations Agents
Agents are travel representatives that handle inbound vacation travel sales for the Squaw Valley/North Tahoe area. Agents help customize vacation packages for guests and sell all of Squaw Valley's services.
- Must be comfortable fielding general information calls and inquiries regarding all aspects of skiing and vacationing in and around Squaw Valley. Knowledge of local area and mountain is necessary.
- Must maintain a professional manner and work well under pressure, remain calm, enthusiastic and flexible
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and have good communication skills
- Must possess good clerical skills: computer knowledge, data entry, filing and calculator
Squaw Kids Ski & Snowboard Instructors
Organize and lead activities appropriate for age 3 & 4, 4 to 6 and 7 to 12. Teach group and private skiing and/or snowboarding lessons to kids ages 3 to 12.
- Previous teaching experience not necessary but helpful
- Enjoy coaching/working with children and able to show patience and sensitivity for their unique needs
- Must be mature, trustworthy, organized and safety conscious
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Intermediate or better skiing/riding ability
- Snow Cubs staff must have a good understanding of child development and learning at the preschool level.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Squaw Kids Sales Clerk
Analyze customers' needs in person or over the telephone regarding children's lessons. Work with the parents to design the proper lesson package to meets the child's needs. Sales staff also assist in the daily operation of Squaw Kids including lunch, cleaning and rentals.
- Great phone skills
- Previous sales experience helpful
- Must possess cash handling experience
- A solid knowledge of skiing helpful
Squaw Kids Rentals
Staff will fit ski boots and adjust bindings for children and assist in bringing equipment out to the ski hill. Rental staff also assist in the daily operation of Squaw Kids including lunch, lesson coordination, cleaning and operation of surface lifts.
- Patience required!!
- Knowledge of skis, boots and bindings helpful
- Must be friendly, organized and enjoy working with children
- Must be at least 18 years old
Funitel Operator
This job is separate from other lift operators. Funitel staff only work on and operate Squaw Valley's Funitel. Staff also provide information to the guests and aid in the upkeep of the facility. Some maintenance required.
- Must have basic mechanical ability
- Must be comfortable with high elevations
- Must be at least 18 years old
Guest Services
As a guest services employee your sole responsibility is to greet and help the guests by providing information at various inside and outside locations and on the phone. Other duties include checking tickets, manning Information Booths and the Lost and Found, updating weather and lift information boards as conditions change and offering suggestions, directions and answers to the guest's questions.
- A ready smile, outgoing personality, positive attitude and high energy, are all prerequisites
- Capacity to work outdoors in winter conditions and sun exposure
- Knowledgeable of Squaw Valley and the surrounding area very helpful
Retail Sales Associates
Sales staff will assist customers with purchases. Employees must accurately operate a cash register and be able to balance and mathematically do tie outs at the end of the day.
- Ability to merchandise, display, stock, and maintain stores appearance
- Ability to stand on ladders and move displays
- Outgoing, friendly and helpful attitude is essential along with being able to work well under pressure
- Must have cash handling experience
- Must be at least 18 years old
Ski Patrol
The safety of our guests and our mountain environment depends on a professional Ski Patrol.
Minimum requirements for Ski Patrol Candidates are:
- Current Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.) Certificate and/or OEC Certificate
- Must have solid writing skills
- Advanced alpine skiing skills (capable of skiing all terrain at Squaw Valley comfortably)
- Must be at least 18 years old
Ski/Snowboard Instructors-Adult Snowsports School
Instructors teach group and private lessons to all levels and ages of skiers.
The Squaw Valley Adult Snowsports School holds hiring and Instructor training workshops in the Winter and Spring. For information on how to sign up for these hiring workshops please call the Personnel department at (530)581-7112.
- PSIA certification preferred

Snowsports School Sales
Sales staff analyze the customers' needs in person or over the telephone and work with the guest to design the proper lesson package to meet their needs. Staff must also balance the register at the end of the day.
- Solid knowledge of skiing helpful
- Cash handling experience required
- Must be at least 18 years old
Snowsports School Support Staff
This position is a combination of being a school ticket seller, instructor and guest services representative. You will receive guest service training, ticket sales training, as well as ski instructor training. Where you are needed most determines where you'll work for that day.
- Ability to be flexible and work long hours under adverse weather conditions
- Solid knowledge of skiing helpful
- Cash handling experience required
- Knowledge of Squaw Valley and the surrounding area very helpful
Ski & Snowboard Rental Shops
Staff will fit ski boots, adjust rental bindings and instruct guests in equipment function and use. Other responsibilities include assisting guests with the rental forms, quoting rental rates and some staff will be trained to operate the cash registers.
- Must possess a basic knowledge of ski and/or snowboard equipment
- Able to work with the guest in high pressure and routine situations
- Cash handling experience helpful
- Willingness to become certified to manufacturers' standards
Ice Rink Attendant/EMT
Attendants are responsible for renting out skating equipment, monitor skating sessions and possibly even operate the Zamboni! EMT's will also assist with any accidents that may occur.
- Responsible, friendly and helpful
- Must enjoy working with the public in stressful situations
- Must possess cash handling experience
- Multi-task oriented and well organized
- Current EMT certification helpful
